dans mon jardin
the birth of a seedling from the earth is a treasure... watching the seeds that i've sown peak their little tops through the soil and stretch for the sun is a experience that i feel everyone should share. but, watching the bugs come in and munch up all my babies is not a pleasant experience. i go away for 48 hours and come home to my adorable broccoli and watermelon gnawed to stubs. at first, i wanted to cry, now, i want revenge! so, i took a nice smelly bag of zig zag tobacco, made my buggy friends a nice spray bottle of tobacco tea and sprayed them all last night. and viola! this morning, no more damage. :]
i started my garden all from seeds, and things are looking great, although off to a late start. my flower garden is on its rise and the seedlings are looking beautiful. i've planted sunflowers, giant and dwarf zinnias, aster, morning glory and a brilliant mess of wild-flowers in between.
my veggie garden, including, broccoli, cuccumber, peppers, cherry tomatoes, basil, iceberg lettuce, watermelon, eggplant and spinach, is also doing well, although still in peat-pots on the porch.
